We have found over the years that the following rules are really in the student.s best interest. They are designed to support the educational process. In an atmosphere like ours, which is open and friendly, it is most important to know what is unacceptable and why.

The following policy, adopted in the fall of 1992, has been instituted in all classes in a uniform manner. There will be no late homework or late papers accepted in any class. A student will receive a .zero. for any assignment not handed in on time.

(Adopted August 8, 1996)
Commencing October 1, 1996, wherever possible, students will be scheduled to take Algebra I and Geometry concurrently, or Algebra II and Geometry concurrently, whichever combination is appropriate, in order to maintain the continuity of the Algebra program (Algebra I/Algebra II). The above policy represents Concord High School.s version of integrated mathematics: Geometry will always be taken in conjunction with either Algebra I or Algebra II, but each course remains distinct.

An additional advantage of the above policy is that it allows students to accelerate more rapidly in mathematics, to AP Calculus (BC) and beyond if so desired.
Each student is expected to be in class on time; a schedule will be given to each student. A school clock is visible from the patio.

If a student is absent, a call to the school is required. If a student misses a class during the school day, a call is made to the home. All absences require a valid excuse; the validity is determined by the office.
If an exam or other in-class assignment is missed due to an unexcused absence, the student will not be permitted to make up the work.
Because we have all learned to value our environment, we insist that the school remain clean and comfortable throughout the day. Concord High School is located in a smoke-free complex. Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere on the school grounds, and students may NOT smoke within view of the school. In addition, we ask all students to refrain from eating, drinking or chewing gum while in any part of the building. We ask also that they do not bring food or drinks into the classroom.

All students are free to leave from 11:10 am to twelve o.clock for lunch. Each student is provided with a personal bathroom key.

Gated and monitored parking is available to any student who wishes it, by the month. Arrangements should be made with the parking lot attendant.
