  • GRADE: 12
  • Achievements: Brandy has a 4.04 grade point average and is taking six advanced placement courses, including Spanish literature and calculus. She recently received her blue belt in shaolin kempo karate and scored a 1320 (out of 1600) on the Scholastic Assessment Test.

  • Activities: Brandy tutors grammar school students at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She also teaches and takes martial arts classes at the Academy of Self Defense in Redondo Beach.

  • Favorite Subjects: Physics and biology.

  • Aspiration: To be a virologist or an astrophysicist. She hopes to go to UCLA.

  • Quote: "I've always liked viruses. When I was a little kid, I used to look up information about new viruses and run up to my mother yelling, 'Mom! Mom! Look, I've found a new virus!'… I've always looked up to my dad; he's a real genius. I've always wanted to be that smart and to know exactly what I'm talking about. Knowledge is power and it's something that no one can take away from you."
