NAME: Max Duganne
SCHOOL: Concord High School

Achievements: Max and his ice hockey team, the Westminster Wave, won this year's California State Championship and have been invited to participate in one of the largest and most prestigious youth hockey tournaments in the world, held in April at Lake Placid, N.Y. The Wave is currently trying to raise enough money for the trip. Max also led his roller hockey team to the first-place trophy in October's NHL Breakout. In addition to playing goalie in ice hockey and forward in roller hockey, Max also is a pitcher in the Santa Monica Little League and holds a 4.0 grade-point average at Concord High School.
Activities: Playing bass, BMX biking and tutoring students at Franklin Elementary School in Santa Monica.
Favorite Subjects: World history and geometry.
Aspiration: "I would like to got to Boston University and play on the hockey team, and then eventually go to medical school."
Quote: "I like having control of the game. As goalie, it all rests on my shoulders, whether we win or lose. It's a good thing sometimes and sometimes it's a bad thing."
